The 7th World Recreational Fishing Conference (7WRFC) to be held from 1 to 4 September 2014 at the Convention Center of the State University of Campinas (São Paulo State, Brazil) follows the tradition of the six previous editions of international scientific conferences that specifically thematized recreational fishing. This series of conferences with the participation of representatives from various countries around the world, aims to increase dialogue and knowledge about the diversity, dynamics and future prospects of fishing as a recreational practice. Thus, 7WRFC to be held in Brazil is a space for the exchange and discussion of science, focused on the management of fishing activities as leisure.

In order to facilitate the implementation of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives and to increase the ability of researchers and managers to understand the different scientific approaches and assess potentially divergent approaches, the event aims to attract representatives from a wide range of scientific disciplines, governmental and non-governmental organizations and various stakeholder groups, including the entire segment of sport fishing. The main concepts and approaches from different scientific disciplines and management practices will be presented orally or in poster form by scientists, managers and delegates of the recreational fishing community. The main papers of this conference, after being selected, will be published for the purpose of international cooperation and the increase the scientific development of the area.

The 7WRFC to be held in Brazil (Unicamp, Campinas, SP), from  the 1st to the 4th of September 2012, will spare no efforts to attract knowledge, insights and experiences from around the world to construct the possible mechanisms to beyond disciplinary, geographical and cultural frontiers.
