Campinas is a city was founded in 1774 and grew during the golden days of the coffee economic cycle (1800 – 1930). Today it is one of the fastest growing cities in Sao Paulo State, having approximately one million inhabitants. Carlos Gomes, Patron of Brazilian Music, was born here. The “City of Swallows”, as it is known, offers different attractions, from technology to art, and we hope the participants of the 7th World Recreational Fishing Conference enjoy some of our wonders and pristine sights.
All tours around the City of Campinas, described below, are modifiable in order to fit exactly the tourist’s profile and interest.
This tour makes tourists feel better the atmosphere of the city. They can have a general view of Campinas through the city main sights such as the Metropolitan Cathedral, “Palácio dos Azulejos” (Tiles Palace), Taquaral Park, “Lago do Café” (Park and Lake of Coffee) among others. And more: they will have lunch at the traditional steakhouse Montana Grill, located at the Iguatemi Shopping Mall (the most traditional in the region)

III – Saturday Ride
Visit the famous city handicraft market, located in the “ Estação Cultura” (Culture Station), a former train station of Paulista Railway Co , Campinas Metropolitan Cathedral, “Palácio dos Azulejos” (Tiles Palace), Taquaral Park (with a beautiful lake), “Lago do Café” (Park and Lake of Coffee) and other city sights. This tour has a stop for lunch at a place chosen by the customer.

A tour to the Hopi Hari Amusement Park, one of the biggest entertainment centers in Latin America and/or the sensational water park called Wet n’Wild. Bring bathing suit. Important: Open only on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. The water park is closed from May to November.

This tour is an interesting option for a contact with Nature. To reach the District of Joaquim Egidio, the tourist will spend minutes (from downtown Campinas). In Joaquim Egidio one can take a little hiking in a vegetation area remnant of Atlantic Rainforest (20 min). Besides the walk, the opportunity to meet and enjoy a very charming picturesque little neighborhood, including excellent restaurants and barbecue places. An unforgettable experience!

In Holambra the tourist will be taken to the main tourist attractions, like souvenir shops, flower shops, handcrafts, and flower production. Holambra is located in the metropolitan region of Campinas. The proximity to major centers, however, does not interfere with the lifestyle of that bucolic quiet town. The city is located 35 km from Campinas and 120 km from Sao Paulo. Its boarders are the cities of Jaguariúna, Artur Nogueira, Santo Antonio de Posse and Cosmopolis. With about 10,000 inhabitants. The the city developed mostly due the Dutch immigration by the end of the 1940s. Its name reflects the union of two peoples and two cultures, a mixture of the Netherlands (NED), America (AM) and Brazil (BRA). Holambra was transformed into a municipality in 1991, in a touristic resort in 1998; in 2008 the community celebrated 60 years of the Dutch immigration.

Cultural and Historical Tour A
On this tour, tourists can see and learn a little about the history and culture of São Paulo consequently about Brazil as São Paulo State has a key role in the Brazilian development. The ride includes visits to the Cathedral, “Pátio do Colégio” (the area where the city was founded), “ Mosteiro de São Bernedito” (St. Benedict Monastery), Municipal Theatre among others, besides the observation of the city center by the top of the Banespa Building (the highest in Brazil).
Culturally, nothing is better than a stop for lunch in the exuberant Municipal Market.

This is a City tour through Sao Paulo focuses on its artistic potential. This tour includes visits to “MASP” (the Art Museum of Sao Paulo), “Pinacoteca” (Picture Gallery), “ Memorial da América Latina (Latin America Memorial), “ MAM” (Museum of Modern Art) and others. We can also visit trade fairs and exhibitions like the Biennale. This route is always set according to the style of art that tourists admire.

This is a walk dedicated to the consumer on duty. On this tour the tourist knows one of the most famous and finest streets of Sao Paulo, Oscar Freire, where the city’s best shops and international brands are located. That makes it one of the most exclusive places in the city. In addition to Oscar Freire, this tour also includes visits to the known and chic malls. On Saturdays and Sundays you can still enjoy a diverse handicraft fair.
